The warmth of home is something many of us take for granted, but for Edmonton’s homeless, the freezing cold winter months can mean death. To encourage Edmontonians to support the Hope Mission with donations or volunteer time, this fireplace was installed in high-traffic downtown locations on a freezing cold winter day. Passersby could take a moment to warm themselves by the fire and reflect on what life might be like without hearth or home.
