Time to Get Checked
AIRB not B&B
Client - Ardrossan Land Corporation
Our client, a former Juno-nominated rockstar turned land developer, enlisted us to promote Ardrossan, a hamlet near Sherwood Park, Alberta. The developer space and new communities advertising is vast, with so much of the same watered-down messaging about living close to nature (or something equally generic). We had to break away from typical “work, live, play” messaging and get people to wake up to the opportunity that exists in Ardrossan. We grabbed attention, converted, and did it all without showing a logo, playgrounds, always-happy families and the inside of a home.
Client - Give Life Alberta
Laugh out loud commercials for organ donation? From a government health organization who performs the surgeries and works with the families?
It felt like a long shot, but our clients got it. They knew we had to normalize these conversations in order to achieve our goals. They had no fear and they fought every battle that arose from their stakeholders–from the first presentation right down to the dispatch date.
Client - Alberta Society of Radiologists
Behind the scenes, we worked to get Alberta Health Services on board with an “edgy” campaign about breast cancer screening. The Alberta Society of Radiologists, not a public-facing organization, lacked recognition. While the Alberta Cancer Foundation had a trusted brand, it needed to remain conservative due to its reliance on donors. The campaign had to balance being bold enough to stand out, while also maintaining taste and compassion to appeal to a new audience and drive action, all within the context of sensitive healthcare messaging.
Client - Automobile Insurance Rate Board
The Automobile Insurance Rate Board (AIRB) is an independent regulating body for auto insurance rates in Alberta. Despite existing for over 20 years, AIRB had never publicly advertised, so their public awareness and engagement was low.
AIRB trusted us to make these bold, risky ads their first-ever official advertising campaign. They let us introduce a redesigned logo, despite it being out-of-scope. They were brave enough to risk a cease and desist from one of the biggest international brands. With every part of this campaign, AIRB fearlessly trusted our guidance, and we didn’t get sued.
